Professional Bio. I obtained my B.S. in chemical engineering from Purdue University working with Stephen Beaudoin, and my Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Princeton University working with Sujit Datta. I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Soft and Living Matter at the University of Pennsylvania, working with Chinedum Osuji. I have spent time researching at NIST, University of Padua, University of California Santa Barbara, and University of British Columbia.
Current role
I am an assistant professor at the University of Michigan Department of Chemical Engineering. I am also a scholar in the Michigan Program for Advancing Cultural Transformation (M-PACT) within the Biomedical Health Sciences.
I established the Mess Lab in January 2026. We study soft matter and complex fluids in messy settings characterized by disorder, 3-dimensionality, or unsteady driving. We are recruiting researchers at all levels; please reach out if you are interested in working together!
